<div itemprop="description">Redfearn, David &quot;Big Red&quot;<br />David passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at St. Catharines General Site with his wife Cheryl (Sherry) by his side. Dave fought a long battle against cancer with great will and courage before going to join his parents Ralph and Muriel Redfearn. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 26 years Cheryl (Sherry) Newbold. Loving father of Nicole and Mathew Maxwell, David Redfearn (Shawn Poulin), Sarah Redfearn (Brady Culp), and Casey Vankheroven, dear grandpa of Ethan, Mya and Naomi. Cherished Bro to Cheryl Johnsen (Gary Miller), Linda Moore, Michael Redfearn, Tim (Rena) Redfearn, Valerie (John) Terpstra and Sandra Stephenson. Dear son-in-law of Wilma Newbold and the late Charles Newbold. He will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Dave lived his life on his own terms and enjoyed it to the fullest. He worked throughout his years in the construction business as Concrete Form Setter Foreman and in later years worked at and was known as the &quot;Mayor of Shalamar&quot;. He was an avid bowler, loved the game of golf and was a killer card shark. Dave and Cheryl spent their summers at their trailer at Shalamar in Niagara-on-the-Lake where they had many friends which were an extension of their family. A special thankyou to the doctors and nurses at the Juravinski Cancer Centre for your care and St. Catharines-NHS site for your care and compassion<br />Family and friends will be received at Pleasantview Funeral Home, 2000 Merrittville Hwy., Fonthill (corner of Hwy 20 and Merrittville) on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Dave's life will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with private interment at a later date.
