BYRNE, Delia Helen - Peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Port Colborne Hospital in her 88th year. Loving wife of Jack. Beloved mother of Daryn (Nina) and Ross of Georgia, USA. Cherished Nana of Tyler. Survived by her sister Rita Bruzzese (the Late Leo) and predeceased by her mother Nell Morris and sister Rosaline Ninacs (the late Andy). Delia will be missed by her brother-in-law Bob Byrne (Mary) of Fort Erie and dear friends Ab and Donna Tweedy of Welland. Delia will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Born and lived in Welland all of her life, Delia married Jack in 1950 and they spent 67 years together raising a family and settling into a long, active retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who took great personal pride in everything she aspired to do. Her strong work ethic was evident during her early career as a hairstylist and also in her passion and talent for cooking and baking. When it came to the latter no challenge was ever too much for her to accept. Delia was a dedicated and avid follower of her grandsons' sporting events throughout his youth. In recent years her loyalty to the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors became a joint passion for her and Jack. Weekly visits to the casino provided her great enjoyment and relaxation. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial to celebrate Delia’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (2000 Merrittville Hwy, Thorold 905-892-1699). Share valued memories, photos and condolences at www.pleasantviewcemetery.ca
