(Charlie) - It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Chuck, with his loving family by his side, on Sun Aug 28th, 2016 at the age of 80 years. <br>Beloved wife and best friend to Diane for 60 years. <br>Cherished father to Kathleen (Thom Hounsell), Chuck JR (Hellen), Heather (Doug Smith) and William (Barbara-Jean). <br>Special Papa to Madison, Jacob, Kara Grace, Blake, Miranda, Aryanna, Taylor and great-grandson Nevada. <br>He will be fondly remembered by his in-laws Carol Ann (Eddie) Verbiwski, Joane (Ron) McGuire, Suzane Bacon, Nancy Ann Stonos, Frances Ann (Kevin) Robins, Dianne Stevenson and Muriel (George) Losier. <br>Chuck is predeceased by his siblings Donald Therriault, Lawrence Pootosh, Violet Nootchtai, Daisy Burke and brother-in-law William ‘Bill’ Stevenson. <br>Chuck was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for 43 years, and a Parish Leader at St. Alfred’s Church for the CYO hockey league, as well as coaching various other sports teams. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed being involved in his community. After retiring from 30 years at Hayes-Dana, he volunteered at Sunset Haven and was a Meals on Wheels driver. <br>Chuck’s family will receive friends at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (entrance off Merrittville Hwy at the corner of Hwy #20) 905-892-1699 on Wed Aug 31st from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thurs Sept 01st at 10:30 a.m. with cremation to follow. Memorial donations to Meals on Wheels will be appreciated by his family.
