<div itemprop="description">Blechner, Eugene<br>Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Eugene Blechner peacefully died with his family by his side on Saturday, August 20, 2016, one week before his 78th birthday. Eugene was born August 27, 1938 and came to Canada at the age of 18 from Germany. He was a Master Tailor working for various businesses until he owned his own, Fashion Studio. Eugene is survived by his beloved wife, Ingrid of 54 years and lovingly remembered by children Annette (Eddy) Plut, Ron (Suzanne Cook) Blechner, and Diane (Darren) Vanecko and his grandchildren Jason (Ashley) and Alexi Plut, Ryan, Shaelynn, and Megan Blechner, and Braedon and Lauren Vanecko. Eugene will be sadly missed by his loving sisters Annette Seuberth and Mary Undiener of Germany and sister-in-law Karen Hurdal of Waterloo. He will always be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Eugene was a lifetime member of Club Heidelberg, loved to travel, and always enjoyed family and friend gatherings. <br>Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pleasantview Funeral Home, 2000 Merrittville Hwy. (corner of Hwy. 20 and Merrittville 905-892-1699). A Funeral Service to celebrate Eugene’s eternal life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, followed by a reception. Memorial donations would be appreciated by the family to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Niagara Health System- ICU.
