<div itemprop="description">Irvine, John J.<br />John J. Irvine passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on Friday, February 6th, 2015 at the age of 73. He was born April 18th, 1941 in Collingwood, Ontario and moved to Port Colborne in 1958 where he met the love of his life Roberta (nee Ramey). They married in 1959 and recently celebrated their 55th anniversary. John was an active member of the community as a member of the Kinsmen club in Port Colborne, volunteering for the Rose Parade committee, serving on city council for the City of Welland, Downtown Development Board, Rose City Seniors Centre and acting as president of the Welland Real Estate Board. John worked for many years managing the Dominion Store in Port Colborne and Niagara Falls. He then pursued a real estate career at Century 21 Real Estate and then as a Broker for his own company, John J. Irvine Real Estate for 37 years. <br />Beloved husband of Roberta. Loving father of Christopher, Rob (Karen) and Barb Whitaker (Darren Cochrane). Cherished grandfather of Jeremy (Star-Lynn), Bobbi, Darren Jr., Madison, Jessie (Jim), Katie and Jack. He leaves behind his sister Audrey Knie (Rod) brother Paul (Gwen), sister-in-law Irene Bottenfield, extended brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews family members and friends. John was predeceased by his parents Aubrey and Josephine Irvine, sister Eleanor and father-in-law Robert Ramey.<br />At John&rsquo;s request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Pleasantview Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2000 Merrittville Hwy on Friday February 13, 2015 from 11am until 1pm. A Celebration of John&rsquo;s Life will be held in the Chapel following the Visitation at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, if desired memorial donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion in Welland Branch, or to the Charity of your Choice would be appreciated.<br /></div>
