IWANCZAK, John Steve, was freed from pain on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at 56 years of age. Soul mate and best friend of Diane for over 40 years; we have had a wonderful life together and I will treasure every memory – there are so many.
John will be forever loved by his brother George, and his sister Cathy Palmieri (Vince). Also his cousin Joe Trifonidis. Predeceased by his sister Anna (1998), and his parents Anastasia and Peter.
He will also be missed by his mother-in-law Florence Robinson, brothers-in-law David Robinson (Pam), Don Robinson (Karen), and sister-in-law Darlene Shelton (Doug), and their families.
His loss has ended a chapter in our lives with dear long-time friends Patti and Marc, and many others from our close-knit circle. Thanks to all of you.
Everyone who knew John will remember him for his love of life and giving ways. He was always a presence in a room and an unforgettable character. And that smile! His passion for working and tackling new challenges carried him into his final days.
A heartfelt thanks goes out to Dr. Findlay and his staff during his journey. Very special thanks to the Niagara South Shared Care Palliative Care Team, and the absolutely wonderful group of people who assisted us in John’s final days. And to Nora, who carried the whole task out so efficiently, and with a little flair.
In keeping with John’s wishes cremation has taken place. His family will receive guests at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (Merrittville Hwy. at the corner of Hwy. #20) 905-892-1699 on Thursday, December 19 from 7-9 pm. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, December 20 at 11:00 a.m.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre will be appreciated by his family.
