Patterson, Marion Edith
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 23, 2014; in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Earl Patterson (2012) for 64 years. Loving mother of Mark and Cathy (Kawartha Lakes), Brenda and John Stamps. A devoted Grandma to Evan and McKensi (Calgary), Katy and Liam Beedling, Myranda and Casey. Marion will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all of her friends and staff at St. Catharines Place. Mom was a tenacious reader and an accomplished, self-taught artist. She leaves her legacy of beautiful paintings for all her family to love and cherish. She often relflected on her years passed, the great times at the summer cottage in Sauble Beach that Dad had built. Family and friends were always a special joy for Mom. Her speciality was the elaborate birthday cakes and crafts for her Grandchildren. A special thank-you to St. Catharines Place and Niagara North Palliative Care Team for allowing the comfort and dignity she so well deserved. Mom was a gentle woman and one of contentment. With her passing, Mom has indeed taken a piece of our hearts, and will remain in our thoughts and prayers forever.
Family will receive friends at Pleasantview Funeral Home, 2000 Merrittville Hwy., Fonthill (corner of Hwy 20 and Merrittville (905)892-1699) on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 1:30 p.m. until service time. A Memorial Service to celebrate Marion's life will be held in the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
