DUGAS, Patrick Christopher - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Pat on Monday April 25th, 2016 at the age of 46 years.
Beloved husband and best friend to Shannon. Proud father to be later this year.
Loving and most generous son to his mother Maura and late father Joseph (1993).
Cherished Brother to Martin (Wendy) Dugas.
He will be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Carol Stackwood, brother-in-law Rory (Lisa) Stackwood and sister-in-law Celena (Lee) Salter.
Special Uncle to Maya and Kayden Dugas, Shaun and Savannah Salter, Zena and Fiorenza Stackwood.
Pat will be sadly missed by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Many of which reside in Ireland.
Pat’s love of adventure and soccer took him around the world and led him to many friendships. His outgoing personality and generous spirit drew people to him and kept these valued friendships connected. Along his journey there have been teammates from childhood, coaches and opponents that have filled some of the most important spaces in his life. Pat brought people and different worlds together. He accepted people unconditionally. For those of you who knew him you were perfect as you were. Pat drew great joy when everyone was on the pitch enjoying the game he loved with him. Pat always took the time to learn the language of those around him. He loved being a teacher. His co-workers and students at Robert Land Academy were an important part of his life. The unexpected visits, surprise parties, handmade cards and thoughtful gestures were some of the best parts of his kind nature he shared freely with all of us.
Pat’s family will receive friends at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (entrance off Merrittville Hwy at the corner of Hwy #20, GPS coordinates: 2000 Merrittville Hwy, Thorold) 905-892-1699 on Sat Apr 30th from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Sun May 01st from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service officiated by Father Jim Mulligan, will be held in the funeral home chapel on Mon May 02nd at 11:00 a.m. with a private family interment at Holy Cross Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Guelph University - Alumni Soccer (http://uofg.convio.net/site/TR?fr_id=2031&pg=entry) will be appreciated by his family.
