EVANS, Pauline (nee Goodwin) - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in her 82nd year. Pauline was an inspiration to all as she faced the challenges of cancer with strength, courage, humor and smiles, determined to make it easier for her loved ones. Survived by her sweetheart, the love of her life, her husband of 64 years, Donald Roy Evans. Cherished mother of Janice Salvatore (John), Donna Burnagiel (Alex) and Lorna Kruczynski (Roman). Precious “Granny” of Chris, Dan (Jen), Carol (Derek) and Lori. Proud “Great-Granny” of Avery, Nevyn, Serena, Grayson, Madilyn and Emery. Treasured sister of Carol Young (Bob), and the late Shirley Reece (the late Tom). Special sister-in-law of Doug Evans (Pat), Carol McCauley-Vince (Ken), Dave Evans (Pat), the late Ross Evans (the late Kaye) and Wanda Austin (Carl). Best friend of Cal and Anne Storie. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Pauline was born in Niagara Falls. She married and remained a homemaker, raising her family in Welland. Pauline later retired to Muskoka and returned in recent years to Welland to be closer to her beloved family. Pauline and Don enjoyed many years at the cottage, traveled extensively and spent “snow-bird” winters in the Bahamas. She was a self-taught, multi-talented creative person whose hands were never idle. She enjoyed boundless activities with enthusiasm and knew how to have fun. Thank you to the oncology nurses at the St. Catharines General Hospital, CCAC nurses Meighan and Linda and Dr. Luterman at the Welland Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Kim Scher and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Douglas Memorial Hospital. Your compassion, kindness and excellent care will never be forgotten. If desired, memorial donations to Douglas Memorial Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) would be appreciated. Share valued memories, photos and condolences at www.pleasantviewcemetery.ca
