It is with great sadness that we announce Kent’s passing on November 5, 2014. He died peacefully with his family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was determined and positive every step of the way, and was the most caring and patient man you could ever meet.
Kent will be sadly missed by his wife Carol (Ainsley) of 48 years. He was a devoted father to his two children, Kelly and Kevin (deceased). Special father-in-law to Rob Minor, and loving Grandpa to two amazing boys, Noah and Devon. Kent devoted his life to his children and family.
Kent will be remembered by his brothers Blair (Alma), Garth (Glenda), Lowell and sister, Karen. Predeceased by his brother Robert, sisters Marilyn and Linda and his parents David and Lestra Irvine. He will be greatly missed by his brother-in-law Geoffrey (Lise) Ainsley, and was predeceased by his sister-in-law Barbara (Brad) Hartwick. Missing him also will be many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that have shared many memories and supported him through the years.
Kent worked at Foster Wheeler as a Quality Assurance Inspector for over forty years. He enjoyed golf, playing cards and the casino with friends. He was a great sports fan and waited eagerly for the Blue Jays to win the World Series again. He never let a day go by without his “Timmies”.
In keeping with Kent’s wishes, cremation has taken place. His family will receive guests at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (entrance off Merrittville Hwy at the corner of Hwy #20) 905-892-1699 on Sunday, November 9th, from 2-4 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, November 10th, at 11:00 a.m.

We would like to thank everyone for their love and support and ask that as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or Sick Kids Hospital in lieu of flowers.
You are invited to share your memories, photos and condolences on-line at www.pleasantviewcemetery.ca
