<div itemprop="description">DURETTE, Ronald &ldquo;Ron&rdquo; passed away in the arms of his beloved Rose after a courageous battle with cancer at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the age of 70 years. Beloved husband to Rose. Sadly missed by his sons Bill (Michelle) and Tom (Gabi). Dear grandfather of Andrew, Claire and Grant. Also survived by his aunt Martha and uncle Roland as well as many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Predeceased by his mother Theresa Dusome and step-father Aberdeen Dusome. Ron served in Cyprus with the Queens Own Rifles for 3 years. He was the Vice-President of the St. Catharines Cribbage League as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17 Thorold where he made numerous friends. Ron was always the first one there to lend a helping hand to any friend or family in need. Ron&rsquo;s absence will truly leave a void to all that knew him. Rose would like to give a special thanks to Uncle Norman, niece Helen Taylor, Dr. and Mrs. Peter and Andrea Hyatt. Special thanks to the Oncology Dept. at St. Catharines General Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ron&rsquo;s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17 (Ormond St. Thorold) on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 1:00 &ndash; 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation and Canadian Diabetes Association.
