Ewasiuk, William "Bill"

It is with great sadness that the Ewasiuk family announces Bill's passing at home after an 8 month battle with cancer, at 77 years of age. He leaves behind his best friend and soul mate Norma (Williams), his wife of 53 years, his children, Dave and his wife Pattie and their children George and Natasha, Sandee and her husband Graham Lange and their children Jack, Hannah and Sadie, Sheri and her husband James Moore and their children Hayden and Sydney, his sister Margaret and her husband Wayne, his brother Dave, his sisters-in-law Shirley Potovsky, Pat and her husband Brent Claridge, Daphne Williams, Donna and her husband Craig Holder. Predeceased by his brother Danny and sister Nettie. Bill worked for the St. Lawrence Seaway (Survey Dept.) for 35 years retiring in 1993. He was an avid gardener with a passion for nature and his country property. One of his greatest joys after retirement were his seven grandchildren. He was the best Grandpa. They played for hours and they tired before he did. He hated to see them leave and couldn't wait until they came back. He was so proud of his family they were everything to him. We want to thank family and friends for their support. Thanks to Dr. Wayne Gruber for his compassion and friendship and for going above and beyond. Dr. Linda Lee and the entire staff at the Walker Family Cancer Centre, the CCAC Team, the St. Elizabeth’s nurses Kim and Laurie, Sue from Palliative Care and Cindy his physio Therapist. Thanks to all of you!

Family will receive friends at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME, 2000 Merrittville Hwy., Thorold on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Bill's life will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow. Memorial donations to Walker Family Cancer Centre or McMaster Children's Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Please share you condolences, memories and photos at www.pleasantviewcemetery.ca.
