<div itemprop="description">Peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday evening, January 15, 2016 in his 85th year. Beloved and devoted husband of Betty Trapp (nee Schott) for more than 60 years. Loving father of Gary (Cindy) of Haliburton and Robert (Suzanne) of Niagara Falls. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Lindsay and Tyler. Dear brother of June Elliott and Ken Trapp. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Irene Trapp (nee Morris) and his brother Jack. Also lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and his extended family and friends. Bill retired with 38 years of service from Bell Canada in 1987 and he and Betty moved from St. Catharines to become full time residents on Maple Lake in Haliburton. He was a lifelong member of the St. Catharines Game &amp; Fish Association. Always active, even in retirement, Bill delivered the Haliburton Echo weekly for many years. He liked to hunt, fish, golf, curl, bowl and daily enjoyed all the natural beauty of the Highlands and most of all, his family.<br />Visitation, Memorial Service &amp; Reception<br />Family and friends are invited to call at the PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME &amp; CEMETERY, 2250 Hwy #20, Fonthill, Ontario (905) 892-1699 for visitation on the evening of Tuesday, January 26, 2016 between 6 until 8 p.m. Memorial Service to follow on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 12 (Noon) with visitation one hour prior. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place with interment of ashes at a later date. A separate memorial gathering is planned for the spring/summer in Haliburton. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.<br /></div>
