<div itemprop="description">BARTMAN, John Walter. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear father and grandfather on June 13, 2013 at the Welland General Hospital in his 90th year. We take comfort in knowing that John has been called home and is reunited with his wife of 67 years, soul mate and best friend Katie who passed away on April 28th, 2013. John will forever be in the hearts of daughter Irene Marr (Gary) and son Deno Bartman (Diane). Grandchildren Jeff, Lisa, Gregory, and Kristen will always have fond memories of their dear grandfather. Survived by sister Mary Michna (Anthony) of Poland. Following 29 years of service, John retired from Atlas Steels. John served in the Second World War and was decorated by the present Polish Government. As a member of the Welland Canadian Polish Society, John was a two time recipient of the 15 year pin. He was decorated by the Polish Canadian Congress with Silver and Gold Plates. John was also decorated with Silver and Gold Plates from Polish Kombatantow, Head Quarters, London, England. Family invites friends to PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (2250 Highway 20, 905-892-1699) on Saturday June 15th , visitation from 9:30 am &ndash; 11 am with a service in the funeral home chapel at 11 am. Entombment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Heart and Stroke would be greatly appreciated by his family.
